After Palm Line

When Africa Palm was sold in 1984, she became:

  • 1984 – Messaria

    • Owner: Europa Maritime Ltd (Cyprus flag)

    • Managed via Oxford Shipping Ltd (Isle of Man).

For a while in the mid-1980s she reportedly had operational problems and periods of casualty or inactivity before continuing trading under the same name.

Her career continued mainly in Asian trades:

  • 1987 – Tong Zhou (Shanghai Jin Jiang Shipping Corp., China)

  • 1995 – Dong Wan

  • 1996 – Brilliant 8 (Singapore owners)

  • 1997 – Luxury (same Singapore ownership)

These changes were typical for older cargo ships working in secondary trades toward the end of their lives.

  • 1997 – Broken up in China while trading under the name Luxury.
