FILMS & VIDEOS
Over the time of its existence there were several films and videos made both professionally and by individuals which contain images of Palm Line ships and its trade with West Africa.
In addition, there have also recently been several short AI generated videos made which used photographs of the ships appearing to show them underway. Whilst some of these are quite realistic, many clearly demonstrate the shortcomings of using AI generated images.
This section gives access to those which have been located and are available and it is hoped to add more as and when they are identified. Any information on other relevant films or videos not shown in this section would be welcomed. Please send details to palmship@aol.com

Matadi Palm (II) to West Africa
This fascinating film was put together by Captain George Alston, the well-known Palm Line Master from Seahouses in Northumberland. The various clips in the film were shot over several voyages between 1971 and 1983 when he was Master on board the vessel. Not being a user of any form of social media he gave a copy to Jerry Batte in 2010 to distribute to anyone who might be interested.
